Glaurung at the sack of Nargothrond, from The Silmarillion. I drew this really just to keep the art bone warm, it'd been sat in my ideas box for a while, so I decided it'd be a nice way to spend an evening.
I like your work here, I think that it came out well. I especialy like the mood, the textures, and the colors. I have one big complaint though! Glaurung did not have wings! Tolkien states that he was the first dragon, and that dragons did not have wings until much later. That is why Glaurung had to crawl over the bridge to get into Nargothrond.
The quality of the drawing is great and it is such a piece of art. Though, Glaurung did not have wings. Tolkien stated that the first time winged dragons were seen was at the war of wrath when Ancalagon got out of Angband, and Glaurung had been killed by Turin many year ago...

Its a great piece of art, but it definitely looks like the fall of a dwarf fortress. Why Nargothrond? Tolkien's tales are full of winged dragons and you choose the only tale about a worm-dragon. Wrong choice. Tolkieners are the worst nerd
Still Tolkien said, he had not wings, otherwise his death would not be possible at all, also it has to do how he imagined the creation of dragons, from simple wingless worms as Glaurung Father of Dragons to more complicated full flight monsters like Ancalagon the Black, you could only be slain at the last battle of the 1st age
